Postmark deadline for applications for the N.C. State Internship Program is Jan. 12.
About 65 people get the chance to work with sea turtles, two-toed sloths or legislators for $8.50 an hour (sometimes $10) for 10 weeks in the summer. That’s $3,400, with last year’s program wrapping up about July 31.
It looks as if last year, people had a one in 15 chance at one of the slots, which are aimed at college students. They need people to work with policy, education, communication, energy and science education. It’s definitely worth checking out.
